SCHIRN MAG PRESENTS: #POLIZEIPROBLEM REVISITED

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2025, 7.30 PM
Reading and Discussion with Mohamed Amjahid and Daniela Hunold

In the SCHIRN MAG podcast series #polizeiproblem, Mohamed Amjahid engaged with various experts in 2022 to discuss the diverse challenges and issues within the police system. His conversations with activist Newroz Duman from the "Initiative February 19 Hanau," police researcher Daniela Hunold, scholar and publicist Vanessa E. Thompson, and journalist Ayesha Khan focused on structural problems, deadly abuses of power within German security forces, the experiences of those affected, remembrance of victims, and the artistic interpretation of political discourses.

For SCHIRN MAG, Mohamed Amjahid will read from his book „Alles nur Einzelfälle? Das System hinter der Polizeigewalt - Über Racial Profiling, NSU 2.0 und Machtmissbrauch in der Polizei“. Published in 2024, the book deepens his critical analysis of the police system and is based on representative studies, years of investigative research, and personal experiences. From the systematic cover-up of abuses of power to the NSU 2.0 scandal, Mohamed Amjahid exposes how deeply entrenched the police problem is within Germany’s security architecture.

Moderated by Miryam Schellbach, the reading will transition into a discussion between the author and police researcher Daniela Hunold, with participation from the audience.
