Yalda Afsah (*1983) explores the complex structures of human-animal relationships in her video works. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, the California Institute of the Arts and the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule in Halle. She received the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Scholarship in 2018 and was a fellow at the Graduate School of the Berlin University of the Arts from 2019-2021. Her films have been shown at numerous festivals, including the Locarno Film Festival, the New York Film Festival, the International Short Film Festival Winterthur, the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein and the Kunstverein München.
