Artist
The artist Johanna Billing (*1973) lives and works in Stockholm. Her recent solo exhibitions include presentations at Whitechapel Gallery, London (2023/24); Kalmar konstmuseum; Jan Mot, Brussels (both 2022); Riksidrottsmuseet, Stockholm (2021); Hollybush Gardens, London (2020); Teatro Garibaldi/Galeria Laveronica, Modica, Italy (2018); Trondheim kunstmuseum (2017) and Villa Croce, Genoa (2016). She has participated in important international group exhibitions, including the 7th Anyang Public Art Project, South Korea; the World Classroom, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (both 2023); Controra Ep. V, at Palazzo San Giuseppe, Italy; the Canakkale Biennale, Turkey (all 2022); the Seoul Mediacity Biennale, South Korea (2021); MOMENTUM 10, 10th Nordic Biennial of Contemporary Art in Moss, Norway (2019); It's Time To Dance Now, Centre Pompidou, Paris (2010); the 4th Auckland Triennial (2010) and Documenta 12, Kassel (2007). From 1998 to 2010, Billing ran the record label Make it Happen, where she released music and organised live performances.
