Common questions

The online ticket can be presented as a printout or scanned as a mobile ticket from the display of a smartphone. With an online ticket, you can go straight to the cloakroom. Simply show the QR code at the entrances to the exhibition rooms – there is no need to queue at the ticket office. Unfortunately, it is not possible to exchange or return the online ticket.

Lockers of various sizes are located directly next to the cash desk and can be used free of charge.

For safety reasons, it is not permitted to wear items of clothing over the arm in our exhibition rooms. Jackets may be worn over both shoulders in the exhibition. Otherwise, jackets must be handed in at the cloakroom.

Smaller rucksacks must always be worn on the front and not on the back. Handbags should be worn as close to the body as possible. Please check whether you can take your bag or rucksack into the exhibition before you visit the exhibition at the bag check points provided. Bags up to A4 size may be taken into the exhibition rooms. If your bag is too large, please leave it at the cloakroom.

Umbrellas and walking sticks are not permitted in the exhibition rooms unless their use is necessary for medical reasons.

Pushchairs and wheelchairs may of course be used in our exhibition rooms. We offer you the use of a wheelchair and pushchairs free of charge for the duration of your visit.

To prevent accidents and damage, we reserve the right to ask you to leave pushchairs in the cloakroom from time to time, depending on the number of visitors.

The consumption of food and drinks is not permitted in the exhibition rooms. Please leave food and drinks in the cloakroom. It is possible to breastfeed infants on the benches in the exhibition.

There is a large bench in the foyer. You can take folding stools with you in front of the respective exhibition rooms. The seating options installed vary depending on the exhibition.

The MINISCHIRN is open to children from the age of 4 up to primary school age and can be visited unaccompanied on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is free for children of visitors with a valid exhibition ticket.

The FAN-TICKET €15 (includes 3 visits to the MINISCHIRN) can be purchased at the SCHIRN ticket office during regular opening hours.

The family afternoon always takes place on Wednesdays from 14-18. Please note that the visit is possible within two time slots, 14-16 and 16-18. Admission is €5 per child, the accompanying person is free. You can book tickets here.

More about the MINISCHIRN

All our exhibitions are accessible by lift. The lift is located on the right-hand side of the entrance. People in wheelchairs can easily use the lift. The buttons are low. The lift always indicates where you are. Wheelchairs and buggies can be hired from the SCHIRN KASSE. We have spaces for pushchairs at the cloakroom if you do not wish to take them into the exhibition. To save people with disabilities longer waiting times, there is an info point in the foyer for larger exhibitions. Please come there directly on the day of your visit to get your free ticket for the accompanying person.

Further information

Vouchers for the SCHIRN are available for €20, €30 or €50 in the online shop and at the SCHIRN cash desk on site. The vouchers can be redeemed for all exhibitions and in all areas of the SCHIRN. The vouchers cannot be redeemed in the BADIAS restaurant. If you order online, you will receive the voucher as a PDF by e-mail. If you buy on site, the voucher will be printed on a current exhibition ticket. The vouchers are valid for 3 years.

The SCHIRN offers an audio guide for selected exhibitions.

Registration is required for all groups. Please register your group at the ticket desk on site. Groups of 20 people or more receive reduced admission at the SCHIRN ticket office. You can find the current admission prices here. For further questions, please contact fuehrungen@schirn.de.
