These are challenging and hopeful times. Because the history of resistance in the Black movement can offer us hope. It tells us about how, 40 years ago, Black people in Germany, after World War II, once again established a solidarity community that would later become emancipated. Knowledge sharing, political interventions, writing, and performing were used to make Black life and culture visible, raise awareness about racism, and bring about change in society. Remaining empowered, even when political circumstances have remained difficult. What does resistance mean, and how can we avoid losing hope? These are the stories that will be shared during this evening of storytelling, reading, and performance. On the occasion of the annual Black History Month, which this year also celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Storytelling Salon in Frankfurt.
