In 2025, some coordinates will change for the SCHIRN: With the energy-efficient refurbishment of the main building on the Römer, the SCHIRN will temporarily move to the Dondorf printing works in Bockenheim from May 2025. The SCHIRN will be presenting art and contemporary themes here until 2027. The important ensemble of buildings with its striking industrial architecture opens up new possibilities. Visitors to the new location can also look forward to exciting exhibitions, events and formats for the whole family as well as a range of gastronomic offerings.
In 2025, the SCHIRN will continue to be a lively place that brings together art, people and discourse. Join us as we open the exhibition by the Franco-German artist group âTroika. Buenavistaâ. From March 7 to April 21, 2025, they will be presenting a new, immersive installation that questions the boundaries of intelligence â human, animal, plant and artificial. From March 28 to 30, you can experience âBody and Buildingâ, a unique performative exhibition that brings art and architecture into a lively dialog over two evenings and three days. Save the Date: On April 30, 2025, we will celebrate our big farewell party with our legendary SCHIRN AT NIGHT.
Exciting exhibitions, events and formats for the whole family as well as a gastronomic offering from Badias await you at the new location in Bockenheim. The first highlight at the opening of the SCHIRN in Bockenheim will be a major project by the renowned dance company SASHA WALTZ & GUESTS. This will be followed by exhibitions by STEPHANIE COMILANG, SUZANNE DUCHAMP, BĂRBARA WAGNER & BENJAMIN DE BURCA and THOMAS BAYRLE. Good news for all parents and kids: the MINISCHIRN is moving to Bockenheim, and we will be offering a varied educational program at the new location as usual. And then thereâs a very special anniversary on the agenda this year: weâre celebrating 15 years of SCHIRN MAGAZINE with numerous readings and community events. We want to experience this and much more together with you. We look forward to seeing you!
