In spring 2024, Deutsche Börse Group partnered with SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT as the exhibition sponsor for “The Culture: Hip-Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century”. Throughout the exhibition, both online tours and on-site offerings were implemented and actively utilized. This collaboration created numerous touchpoints between Deutsche Börse Group and SCHIRN through a variety of events held over the course of the exhibition.

“The Culture: Hip-Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century” was exclusively presented in Europe at SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT, underscoring the exhibition’s international significance and Deutsche Börse Group’s role as a supporter of global art exchange—a commitment the company has championed for many years. Prior to its Frankfurt showing, the exhibition was part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of hip-hop, debuting at the Baltimore Museum of Art (Baltimore, Maryland) and the Saint Louis Art Museum (St. Louis, Missouri).

Art Experience and Discovery

A highlight of the exhibition was the talk series hosted by Miriam Davoudvandi, which kicked off on March 5 with a conversation between hip-hop pioneers Cora E. and OG LU. Employees of Deutsche Börse Group were invited as guests to dive into the dialogue exploring the evolution and contrasts between the “True School” and the “New School” of hip-hop. The series concluded on May 7 with an inspiring discussion on growing up in Frankfurt, featuring the prominent Frankfurt icon Sabrina Setlur.

Another key aspect of the partnership was the online tours, which provided a virtual walkthrough of the exhibition. These tours offered detailed insights into the artworks and themes and were hosted by art experts. This initiative allowed employees at all global locations of Deutsche Börse Group to experience the exhibition, underscoring the importance of this offering for the company as an exhibition partner.
